Kathy L, I ditto Nancy in that you did such a fine job administering the website with excellent communications, especially for those of us who could not attend.  You could compete with Bill Gates! Ha, ha. A big Thank You! And to the entire committee and Margo too for the photos. It was so fun to see everyone virtually from afar! I hope to make the next reunion. AJ

For Margo,

Thank you for your diligence in capturing, it looks like, everyone at Dave Ferris' Friday night get together.  Your pics made me realize how many people I completely missed.  I regret not catchng up with you because it seems from FB that you have had a wonderful ride the last 50 years.  I also missed catching up with Jude Ellis, Dave Ferris, Bill Carpenter, Tom May, Bill Hoyt, Charlie Anderson and any number of others.  But I guess that is what the 75th will be for.  Thanks again for posting.

Patti, I don't  think we can wait till the 75th! Hopefully we will have a 55th, if not sooner.

My deep thanks to our wonderful reunion committee for your relentless efforting in making our PHS Class of 1969  50th reuinion so special, so memorable! With many classmates, I was gratefully able to pick up our friendship near to where we left off last time we were together! Thanks so much to you my classmates! I am certainly hoping we can come together as a class very soon... maybe 2024!

Love You All,

Mark Patterson

So sorry to have missed the class of '68's reunion last year, but we were out of the country.  Photos were great and it looked like everyone had a wonderful time.

I noticed in one of the posts that someone mentioned meeting in Florida.  We are there on the west coast for most of the winter (and in Washington DC for the rest of the year).  If there is any interest in having a reunion there, I would love to know.

I hope all is well with everyone.  See you in 2043, if not before.

Best,
Amy Lippman Shaffer

Dear friends,  just want to let you know Patrick Owen has been diagnosed with stage 4 renal CA  His diagnosis is most likely terminal  Average lifespan 18-24 months  His oncologist said because he is in excellent health up to 5 years is possible  They are trying some new therapies that directly target the CA cells  The CA was discovered when he bent over to lace up his ski boot and his femur spontaneously fractured  He underwent major surgery to fix leg  They are waiting for leg to heal before starting tx for CA  Pat is basically upbeat and positive about the future His strong faith in Christ and amazing family support is helping him through  I'm sure he would appreciate all prayers for God's will concerning his future  Thank you, and God bless   Kerry Hoerner Bovenzi

Total eclipse, 8 April 2024, excellent viewing from Pittsford. If only there was a better than 10% chance for clear skies, I might think about a road trip.

Kerry Hoerner Bovenzi            Update on Pat Owen.  2021 had a lot of positive news for him  All sites in chest and abdomen are gone.  Still tumor in kidney that has shrunk considerably.  Waiting on results from most recent scan. Amazing results. Unfortunately CA was found on his neck and shoulder.  It was squamous cell skin CA which he has had removed recently, and he expects excellent results. He is still very positive in thoughts and trust in our LORD. He would love to hear from any of you. Have a blessed New Year

To Pat Owen,

That's great news on your scans.  I spent two years viewing scans in the control rooms at a hospital as a radiology transporter and it was always gradifying to see good ones.  Of course we never were allowed to discuss what we saw even though we were often asked by the patients. Good scans was always a welcome sight during my 2nd shift weekends at the hospital.  Retired this past April

I don't know if you remember me, but I was a junior your senior year and was mostly a DB on the football team.  I clearly remember you coming through the line at me in practice on occasion and it was a real challenge for me.  You were a hard runner and hard to tackle.  Also I'm sure you remember the Bull in the Ring.

Keep up the fight.  Prayers are with you...

Patrick W. Owen (Owen)

I want to really thank all my good friends who know about my battle with cancer and have been prayhing for me!!! Thank you so very much!! On Valentines Day 2021 I was attempting to put on my ski boot when my right femur suddenly fractured. After I got done screaming i told my wife that I have to have cancer. I was right!! I have renal cell carcinoma that metasized to my leg. My abdomen was filled with tumors and my lungs had many cancer tumors. I was given 18 months to 2 years to live. My name Patrick means Nobel and Owen means Warrior. I declared that my cancer has my Goliath and that no uncircumsied Philistine was going to defeat this Noble Warrior with God on my side. Since then most of all my tumors have disappeared with only 2 left. One on my left kidney and one behind my spleen. Those have been reduced to 50% and 38% of their size in March. I have people all over the world praying for me and theirs and your prayers are being answered. I will probably have my left kidney removed in March. Thank you all so very much and may God bless you in this new year of 2022! Got to be better than 2021 right? Many Blessings! Patrick

Chris Currier reached out to let us know that his twin brother Craig has passed away.  Please keep them and their families in your thoughts.

Thomas C. Junker

Hi all-

As was posted a few days ago, my brother Dave passed away on September 2nd. As some of you know, he was my fraternal twin and my only sibling. We did everything together growing up in Pittsford, and remained close ever since. He had spent almost 42 years on kidney dialysis, 3 days a week, each treatment 6 hours door to door. He never complained. He was the bravest, purest of heart man I have ever known, or ever will know. I am comforted by the fact that his passing when he did saved him from more pain. But I will miss him so much. He was smarter than me; more accomplished; more talented; more coordinated; better-looking; more athletic; a better golfer; and 5 and ½ inches taller than me, but I loved him anyway, very much, and always will. I literally and figuratively looked up to him. I was able to be with him in the hospital after he fell, and tell him that I loved him and that he was the greatest brother anyone could have. And he told me the same thing. So I have that to remember, along with so many other memories of him. Love you, bro. –Tom

Chris Currier

I wanted to pass along to you, my sincere condolences on the passing of your twin. As you may know, my twin died in April, and while I have experienced the death of my mother and father, my daughter, and many family, members, and friends, the death of a twin is something that can only be understood from twins themselves. Their sense of closeness and their identities are wrapped up in each other. My best wishes to you, Chris Currier.

Dear Tom, such an eloquent tribute to your brother. He was so brave -- 42 years on dialysis. I miss the days when the three of us hung out together on Maywood Avenue. I am sure you will find comfort in your own memories of Dave. Thinking of you, Don Lewis

Tom and Chris ... forgive me as I just read your posts after I finished buttering up Bill Carpenter. I'm feeling sad due to the recent losses that I've noticed. Now I see your posts and  the emotions attached. Sincere condolences dear classmates. This age 72 thing is becoming too serious for this PITTSFORD Kid!

I am saddened to hear about Jim. We were very good friends in High School and we attended

MCC together. We would go for lunch between classes in either his yellow Oldsmobile with the

8 track tape player or my old 1961 Ford Falcon. GOOD MEMORIES !  He will be truly missed.
